In good condition; no dust jacket. Light tan cloth boards with black title lettering and decorative motif on front cover and spine; light scuffing and soiling to bottom of front cover and light overall soiling and toning to cloth. Binding sound. Small black remainder mark on bottom edge of text block; Previous owner's gift inscription in ink on front free endpaper dated December, 1948; interior pages lightly toned with age but otherwise clean and unmarked. No dust jacket present. Sporting memoir and anecdotal narrative by Lawrence B. (Lon) Smith recounting hunting experiences centered on upland game and bird shooting, with particular emphasis on the companionship and behavior of hunting dogs. Paul Brown's pen and ink drawings illustrate hunters, dogs, and field scenes throughout.
