In very good condition. Bright green card covers with black lettering, plastic comb binding intact. Light scuffing and corner wear. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Authored by Alison McMorland, edited by Kate Rinzler (Children's Area Coordinator, Festival of American Folklife). Produced as a teaching manual to accompany the 1976 Festival of American Folklife, presented under the auspices of the Smithsonian Institution and the National Park Service. Contains twenty-five children's games from British tradition, taught during the 1976 festival, with instructions, songs, music transcriptions, and illustrations. Games include "I Am Diana Dors," "Lucy Locket," "Pee Pee Pollyana," "Old Roger Is Dead," "Briar Rosebud," "The Witch Is Sleeping," "The Big Ship Sails on the Alley Alley Oh!," "Bee Baw Babbity," and others. Includes sections on nursery lore, oral tradition, supplementary notes, and a biographical note about Alison McMorland.
