In very good condition. Illustrated paper covers show light edgewear and mild scuffing. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Published in conjunction with the exhibition of works by Japanese artist Masayuki Hara (b. 1956), held at Hammer Galleries, New York, from April 18 to May 7, 1988. Includes acknowledgments by Dr. Armand Hammer and Yuzo Iida, an introduction by Nicholas Fox Weber, and full-color reproductions of Hara's landscape and architectural paintings such as Dry Leaves, Forest, Autumn, Ice Drift, Temple in Drizzle, Hidden Scene III, and Abandoned Boat. Catalog produced by Bijutsu Shuppan Design Center and printed in Japan. Masayuki Hara (b. 1956, Osaka) is a Japanese realist painter educated at Tama Art University, known for his atmospheric landscapes and precise depictions of nature. By the mid-1980s he was regarded as one of Japan's most promising young artists, exhibiting at Gallery Iida in Tokyo and making his U.S. debut at Hammer Galleries, New York. This catalog documents one of his early international exhibitions.
