Includes exercises adapted from Eugene A. Nida's "Morphology." Introduces fundamental linguistic concepts through comparisons of Latin, English, and other languages, including sound systems, morphology, syntax, and semantic variation. Illustrated examples include Chinese verbs, German and Latin polysemy, and morphological analysis using Aztec vocabulary.
