In very good condition. Red textured card covers with gilt lettering, lightly faded. Binding is tight, pages clean and unmarked. This booklet was issued as a patient guide and public health resource, offering practical information on maintaining eye health from infancy to old age. A practical glimpse into early 20th-century public health education and vision care. Contents include: Foreword; General Remarks; Babies' Sore Eyes; Early Childhood; Crossed Eyes; Adolescence; Diseases of the Eye; Eye Disturbances in Later Life; General Advice. Greens' Eye Hospital was founded by Latvian-born brothers Dr. Aaron S. Green and Dr. Lewis D. Green, who arrived in San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake and established a respected institution devoted to ophthalmologic care. In 1928, they commissioned architect Frederick Meyer to design a Romanesque Revival hospital building in San Francisco's Pacific Heights. The hospital served the community until its closure in the mid-1960s.
