In acceptable condition. Blue illustrated paper covers have chiping and tearing all along the edges (looks like insect damage). Moderate to heavy overall soiling, spotting, aging and fading to covers as well. Binding tight. Previous owner's name ("Stones Book") written at top of title page. Otherwise pages are lightly aged but clean and unmarked. Book published to support science education on the island. Organized into thematic chapters - Geology and Weather; Plant Communities; Terrestrial Animals; Birds of Guam; Aquatic Community; Marine Community - with a bibliography and listings of educational resources available locally. Includes content from E. H. Bryan, Jr. of the Bishop Museum and other notable contributors. The original cover artwork features the endangered Guam rail (Rallus owstoni), drawn by Helen Wood of the College of Guam.
