In very good condition with light bumping to edges and corners of covers and light overall scuffing. Binding tight (staple bound). Pages clean and unmarked. A promotional booklet which provides a summary of historical documents relating to sundials of the Briancon region, and, in particular, Dr. Raphael Blanchard's study of sundials in the region, original published in 1895. Includes a two page color insert showing Artissime's replicas, bibliography, a short glossary, a map of Provence, and instructions for using the book cover as a functional sundial. Black and white illustrations. [From preface] Depuis 1982, nous fabriquons des cadrans solaires, repliques d'oeuvres populaires a jamais disparues. Ce travail nous a amene a rassembler un grand nombre de documents sur le sujet. Suite a de nombreuses demandes, nous vous en proposons, ici, un bref resume. . . Nous tenons a remercier les auteurs des livres et documents que nous citons en bibliographie, et tout particulierement, le Docteur Raphael BLANCHARD pour son etude sur les cadrans solaires du Brianconnais parue au "Bulletin de la Societe d'Etudes des Hautes-Alpes" en 1895 et qui fait reference a de nombreux cadrans aujourd'hui disparus.
