In acceptable condition. Oversized (9 x 13") pictorial paper covers have several chips and tears and creasing along edges. Moderate overall scuffing, aging and soiling to covers as well. Several pages have started to pull away from the glued binding and are laid in, but all pages are present. A solid reading copy. A journal dedicated to Classic Maya sculpture and features a rich compilation of scholarly articles by prominent researchers. The contents of this include: "The Origin of Maya Art and the Development of the Mask as an Integrated Architectural Element", which explores the early roots of Maya artistic expression and the symbolic use of masks within architectural structures; "The Evolution of Classic Maya Sculpture in the Peten Region", offering an in-depth analysis of stylistic and cultural developments in this core Maya area; "Classic Sculpture in the Basin of the Rio Motagua", focusing on the distinctive sculptural traditions of this geographically significant area; and "Classic Maya Sculpture in the Usumacinta Province", examining works from sites such as Palenque, Yaxchilan, and others along the Usumacinta River, highlighting their regional styles and iconography.
