The exhibition, held at Titanic Belfast in 2018, combined traditional art with cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) technology. Visitors were presented with a series of oil paintings and limited-edition prints that came alive through the use of smartphones and iPads. This interactive element allowed viewers to unlock layers of animation, poetry, music, and archive voices, bringing to life the stories of soldiers who fought and died during the Great War. The exhibition was named after a significant tree in the Battle of Beaumont-Hamel, where soldiers of the Newfoundland Regiment used it as a rallying point. Each painting told the story of a different soldier, with themes of sacrifice and loss. Catalogue contents include: 100 Years of Liberty; The Story so far . . . ; Limited Edition Titanic Belfast Artworks (full color reproduction of 4 unique artworks); The Original Danger Tree; Scarlett Raven & Marc Marot : The Artists Changing the Way you View Art; Altered Reality : How it Works.
