Condition & notes

In good condition. Grey/Green paper covers are darkened along edges with age and have light bumping and creasing to edges and corners with light overall scuffing. Binding tight. Pages lightly aged but otherwise clean and unmarked. NOT Ex-library. NO remainder marks. Forty-seven skulls primarily from the area around San Francisco Bay (locations on map included) were examined. 'The most unexpected and important result of the examinations is the close agreement in many respects of a large majority of the crania' (pg 52). Separation into gender was particularly difficult. Artificial deformation of the skull was present in four cases only. Many skulls were those of persons above 50 years of age. Measurements are listed in columns. Tables. Extensive footnotes.
