Description

Scholastic, Inc. [Published date: 1978]. Paper covers, which include 32 identical 4 page (each one single sheet that is folded and printed on all four sides) scripts to be handed out to children. Covers (both outside and inside) contain illustrations and costume and scenery suggestions.

Condition & notes

In good condition. White illustrated paper covers have light bumping and creasing to edges and corners and very light overall scuffing and soiling. Interior pages are lightly aged but otherwise clean and unmarked. A cute little play freely adapted from "The Pied Piper of Franchville" from More English Fairy Tales by Joseph Jacobs. NOT Ex-library. Illustrations and Costume Suggestions by Margaret A. Hartelius. Freya Littledale (1920 - 2009) was a prolific author and editor of children's books. Born in New York City, she graduated from Barnard College and began her career as a teacher, which later transitioned to writing and editing. Littledale worked at Scholastic, where she focused on making classic folk tales, fairy tales, and myths more accessible and engaging for young readers. Her stories are known for their simplicity, clarity, and ability to captivate children while imparting moral lessons and cultural insights.
