Christie's, New York, Catalogue for Auction held Nov 14, 1988 - Property from the Collection of William & Edith Mayer Goetz. Hardcover, 90 pp. Very good in very good dust jacket. Dark blue cloth covered boards with gold lettering on spine. Light scuffing to edges of covers. Binding tight. Pages clean and unmarked. Dust jacket has a few nicks and light creasing along edges. light overall scuffing to jacket as well. Now in an archival-quality (removable) Brodart Cover. NOT Ex-Library. NO remainder marks. Includes detailed descriptions and full color photos for 28 lots and include include paintings and sculpture by Picasso, Degas, Bonnard, Renoir, Monet, Cezanne, Manet and Modigliani. Expected to bring in $50 million, the auction totaled a staggering $85 million. Among the most important paintings were two Picassos - "Maternity," a Blue Period study of mother and child from 1901, and a 1920's portrait of the artist's 4-year-old son Paul, dressed as Harlequin, and a Degas bronze, "Little Dancer at 14 Years of Age."
