[From forward] Postcard collecting is a hobby enthusiastically enjoyed by hundreds of collectors in the United States, and in fact throughout the world. Collectors of postcards are known as deltiologists. Collecting postcards about Abraham Lincoln is one of the many interesting facets of Lincolniana. These pieces of 20th Century art are not only educational, but provide also illustrative material for all other phases of Lincoln-ology from biographical, historical and literary points of view. Although not every deltiologist specializes in Lincoln postcards, anyone interested in postcards at all prizes highly the Lincoln cards in his collection. Not only are Lincoln postcards in demand among deltiologists but also among those interested in Lincolniana in general. It may be that they have no interest in other areas of deltiology, but Lincoln postcards form an important segment of their Lincoln collection.
