Soft cover, 96 pp. Very good in good wrapper. Includes a charming original watercolor illustration on half-title page with artist's initials in pencil at the bottom. Brown paper covers have very light bumping to edges and corners. Binding tight. Inside of front cover has a small spot of watercolor from the illustration by the author on the opposite page. Otherwise pages are clean and unmarked. Wrapper has a 1" tear on the bottom front edge near the spine and a few other smaller nicks and tears and light creasing along the edges. Light to moderate overall scuffing to wrapper as well with a bit of the color rubbed off along the edges. NOT Ex-library. NO remainder marks. [From Preface] George A. Weymouth has accomplished many things in his life for which he is well-known, . . . In them all, he is passionately committed to the pursuit of beauty and perfection. He shares this enthusiastic chase with others and thus brightens many lives. Above all other endeavors, however, he is an artist. He is a painter of significant talent, rare and fascinating technique, and international reputation. This retrospective exhibition of his art, the first in several decades, was long-awaited by his friends and following. His rather private painting has produced a large body of work ready for a larger audience. The quality of that art deserves such recognition. With the enthusiastic support of its trustees, the Brandywine River Museum organized this exhibition to celebrate its twentieth anniversary. Nothing could more appropriately honor this occasion; it was "Frolic" Weymouth who, more than any other force, built this museum (as he did its parent organization, the Brandywine Conservancy). Indeed, in defining and bringing stability to this institution, he has taken a great deal of time from his painting. Now the museum repays its debt. This exhibition travels to the Jacksonville Art Museum, a major institution of contemporary art in the Southeast. This museum is proud to introduce these notable works to a new audience, one that is certain to greatly appreciate the artist's inimitable talents.
