In acceptable condition. Pictorial paper covers have a few small nicks and creasing along edges and corners. Moderate overall scuffing and light soiling to covers as well with a bit of the color scuffed off along edges. Binding tight. Several pages have light underlining and margin notes in green pencil. NOT Ex-Library. NO remainder marks. A good reading copy. Report on an exploratory conference of white World Council of Churches held in Geneva Switzerland, June 28 - July 4, 1970. The conference included a group of about 30 scientists and theologians whose purpose was to "catalogue the negative effects of modern technology," question the almighty power of technology, call for a renewed dialogue between scientists and theologians and stress the importance of maintaining faith in God in times of crises. Worries about the ecological state of the world factor most heavily in the work, though it also addresses human population growth, the possibility of manipulating biological genes, the industrialization and urbanization of societies, and the importance of keeping computers at arm's length.
