The mass of newly available information provided in these notes, amplified by a fascinating essay on ‘The Early Purchasers of Cubist Art’, brings to light for the first time the story of the collecting and patronage of Cubism. The exhibition was organised and the catalogue written by Douglas Cooper, a noted authority and author of many monographs on the Cubist painters, and the American art historian, Gary Tinterow.
