Scott, Foresman and Company, Elson-Gray Basic Readers Book Six [Published Date: 1936]. Hardcover, 465 pp. This is book 6 of the basal series known as the Elson-Gray Basic Readers published by Scott, Foresman and Company. Elson is most notably known as coeditor of the Scott-Foresman’s “Dick and Jane” readers. This reader, Book 6 was intended for students in the 5-6 grade level. [From the preface] Each unit initiates a theme or field of interest which can be followed up and developed throught the materials of various readers, library books, reference books and other sources. The 8 units in Book 6 are as follows: The Outdoor world; Airways and Roadways; Stories that never grow old; Young American Citizens; Boys and Girls of Other Lands; Workers and Their Work; Famous Heroes of Adventure; Holidays and Festivals. Condition & notes

In good condition. In Elson-Gray's classic green and black cloth covered boards. Covers have bumping to edges and corners and light to moderate overall scuffing and soiling. Spine thinly cracked at preface page, but binding is still tight. Previous owners's names and one address in ink on front paste-down and front free end paper. A few pages have some light checkmarks in pencil. Otherwise pages are aged but unmarked. NOT Ex-Library. NO remainder marks.
