Every picture has been very thoughtfully planned to give accurate information and to develop clear concepts. Usually, however, when a child sees a picture his first impulse is to color it. Come and See is intended for use in school by of children under teacher guidance. Later, it can be shared with you and others who are interested in knowing about your child's experience and development. In most cases, the child will not take the book home until it is completed, but he will demonstrate his progress when you visit him in school. The titles on the pages tell briefly about the story children whose experiences provide interest throughout the book. Your child is not expected to read the titles, but as he hears them read they will help him to realize that printed words tell interesting things, provide information, or give direction.
